A must-read from Rod Decker

Rod shares his father’s example during a week in which he (his father) lost his wife and ended up in the hospital himself. Here’s an excerpt, but do go and read the whole.

The most amazing part of this week has been my Dad’s attitude—toward Mom’s death and his own situation now. His faith and stability have been a tremendous example to us four kids, spouses, grandkids, and greatgrandkids (though most of them are too young to understand that now). In the 57 years I’ve known him I have never known him to worry. Perhaps he did at times, but not when I’ve been aware of it—and having seen him go through this past week, I can’t imagine a situation more likely to engender worry. His trust in a sovereign God who is too good to be unkind and too wise to make a mistake (as he has been known to quote from RT Ketcham) sustains him in an amazing way.
